Lash retention is the number one thing new clients ask about, and the honest answer is that most of it happens at home. A good set gives you a strong start. Your daily habits decide how long it lasts.
Here are the habits that make the biggest difference, in the order they matter.
Keep them dry for the first few hours
The adhesive needs a little time to fully cure. Avoid steam, sweat, and water for the first four hours after your appointment. After that, you can wash your face like normal.
Actually clean them
This one surprises people. Clean lashes hold extensions better than dirty ones, because oil and makeup break down the bond. Use a lash cleanser two or three times a week and let them air dry.
Skip oily cleansers and oil-based makeup removers near your eyes. Oil is the enemy of retention.
Stop touching them
Rubbing your eyes, sleeping face-down, and picking at lashes pulls them out before they are ready to shed. If you sleep on your side, a silk pillowcase helps.
Book your fill on time
You lose natural lashes every day, which means your set thins over time. A fill every two to three weeks keeps it looking full and costs less than starting over with a new set.
